Keeping it Comfortable

What are the most efficient and effective heating methods, equipment, and fuel source for our climate? Sames questions for cooling. What habits can we adopt to be comfortable in our house while using less energy?

My first inclination was to phrase the question this way: "How do we keep the house comfortable in the most cost and energy efficient manner?"

But I realize that the following approach is truer to our goals and gives us more flexibility: "What is the most cost and energy efficient manner by which we can maintain our comfort in the house?"

Taking this approach instantly put more tools into our hands.
